Since our return from Morroco life has continued as usual with regular golf and coffee with my pals Mark and Chris Lister. We have lost one of our band, Colin Jones, who has been forced back, with legs kicking, to the UK for the winter to a new home there. He has vowed to come back in Spring even if his lovely wife decides to stay in UK.
The weather has now changed dramatically and we are currently going through a very cold period with frequent very cold winds and lots of rain!! Not at all ones idea of the South of France.
Playing golf in cold wind brings tears to ones eyes and certainly requires a desperation to get out of the house to initiate it!!
This weekend we have the Rallaye Du Var in the area. This entails lots of small Renaults and Citroens with stripes and adverts on them. They, of course, have the noisest exhausts that can possibly fitted so that they can disturb as many people as possible and naturally they keep going throughout the night just in case anybody wants to sleep!!
Most of the restaurants have now closed for the winter or at least are having a break until just before Christmas but there are still good ones around. Today we are going to The Amiral in St Maxime for lunch and I will report back during the week.
