On Monday morning I had an appointment at the Pole de Santé near Gassin. Normally from Sainte Maxime it takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car on the main Sainte Maxime-Sainte Tropez coast road, however on Monday it took then 1hour and 20 minutes!! Unfortunately it’s the same thing in the other direction, Saint Tropez-Sainte Maxime, this morning a couple of my pupils coming from Grimaud took more than 1 hour and consequently arrived really late for their lessons.
Yes, the tourists are here in strength and just that’s the way it will be until early September.
Here is a little secret, but don’t tell everyone………….but if you take the mountain road via Plan de la Tour the same trip will take about 20 to 25 minutes! Careful though the road in some parts is very narrow and as all the local tradesmen use it during the summer it can get a bit hairy.
