The Saga of the Pool
The saga of the pool continues! We have finally given up on repairing it as no matter how many patches we put on the liner the water still goes down! We have finally decided to get a new liner and need it before the first grandchildren arrive in mid July. This is no small feat as getting anything done in the South of France in the summer is near impossible. We finally found a professional attitude at Florida pools who are going to great lengths to fit it next week. Let’s pray!
Yesterday we had to empty it in preparation for the work and had to hire a pump to get rid of the water onto the small back road behind us. This was the cause of several phone calls. The first was from our neighbour who lives behind us to ask if we had a mega water leak and he could come around immediately to fix it. Who said the French are not helpful?? The next was from friends in the village above us who had been contacted by the local town hall to see if they knew us and could the town hall (Marie) help if we had a problem!
Anyway we are now awaiting a call from the pool people to do the work and all we have at present is a large hole in our garden! And I will soon have a €10,000 hole in my bank balance!
