Le Comptoir
The other day it was my mother in law’s 82nd birthday and we arranged to go to Cavalier, where she lives, and take her and my father in law for lunch at a restaurant called Autre Chose. This in excellent restaurant and a small cake was arranged. When we arrived we discovered that the part of town, where it is situated, was without electricity. Off we went to find a restaurant with electricity. This problem has been common this month after the effects of the floods and people have been without electricity for more than 24 hours.
We walked along the Marina and were drawn to a new restaurant called Le Comptoir. This was designed in a minimalistic way and was very attractive. We chose the menu at €29 and it was excellent. Some of us started with scallops and prawns in avocado mouse and was delicious. For mains we had either steaks or duck and they were delivered in a beautiful sauce and with vegetables. All the dishes were beautifully presented and everything was cooked to perfection. For deserts everybody ordered Crème Brule.
This is a restaurant I would recommend and will certainly return to.
